How to replace timer on a Dryer


Unplug the dryer to disconnect electrical power. Remove the timer knob. The image below shows how to release the clips that secure the console to the top panel of the dryer. Once you release those clips on each side, you can hinge the console up and back over the top of the back panel of the dryer. Note locations of the wires connected to the timer. Take a digital picture if necessary to document their locations. The wires will need to be positioned on the new timer in the correct locations. Remove the wires. Remove the old timer and replace it with the new one. Properly connect the wires on the new timer. Reassemble and test the dryer.
