Question and Answers

Q:

Dryer is heating when its not turned on 11069522800 Kenmore Residential dryer

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the heating element is broken and portion of the heating element coil is shorted/touching the heating element housing, the element will heat if the timer set to a run position or if the motor centrifugal switch contacts 1M and 2M is stuck or welded shut. Disconnect the power cord from the power supply until the dryer has been repaired. It could have a broken heating element or a faulty motor centrifugal switch.

The heating element is located at the back of the dryer in the lower left corner. You can disconnect the power cord from the power source and then remove the screws from around the back panel. Remove the back panel and the heating element and inspect the element to see if it is broken and shorted to ground. See image in second response.

Amber; The heating element should not come on unless the timer is set and the dryer is running. You could have more than one component failure. I recommend calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair your dryer.

Amber: It could have a broken heating element and a portion of the the heating coil is touching the heating element housing causing it to be shorted to ground which can cause it to come on, or it could have a faulty motor centrifugal switch. Remove and inspect the heating element first to see if it's broken and shorted to ground. Be sure to disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

Q:

kenmore dryer 11069522800 dropped glue stick inside lint trap hole. how do i get my glue stick out?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you with removing the glue stick. First, unplug the dryer from the outlet or turn the power off. Then click on the image below to view the instructions for accessing the blower wheel. If the air duct will not come out far enough to access the blower wheel, you will need to remove the lint screen. Then remove the two screws under in the top near the filter opening. This will release the air duct and give you more room. Be sure to be careful when working around the metal parts, the edges are sharp and will cut. I recommend wearing gloves t protect your hands.

I have found a video that shows how to replace the blower wheel. Even though you are not taking the dryer apart that far it should help. Click here to watch the video.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
