Question and Answers

Q:

Dryer stopped working, when I press power 40 min comes up like normal and I press start, it makes a clicking noise and it starts blinking f then 40

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the dryer. The F40 error code is a communication error. If the dryer fails as soon you push the start button and the motor does not make any noise I suspect the problem is a blown thermal fuse. To check the thermal fuse, unplug the dryer or turn the breaker off. Then use the image to access the thermal fuse. If you have a meter, remove one of the wires and check the resistance of the thermal fuse. If you get an open reading or a reading of OL the thermal fuse needs to be replaced. The part number for the thermal fuse is 3390719 and can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not have a meter, you can remove the wires from the thermal fuse and tape them together. Then check the operation. If the dryer works, the thermal fuse needs to be replaced. Do not use the dryer with the thermal fuse bypassed it is a safety hazard.

There are a few other possibilities that will cause the F40 error code. They would be a failed motor, motor control, wiring, and main control.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern with your Oasis dryer. The fault code "F-45" implies a motor control speed sensor error.

I added an image below with the recommend troubleshooting procedure. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before troubleshooting your dryer.
