Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I added a YouTube video with the procedure of removing the start switch. NOTE: Disconnect the dryer from the power source before servicing your dryer.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

how do I install a new timer (3976577) on my kenmore model 11066712694

A:

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you with the repair of the dryer. First, unplug the dryer and pull the dyer out to access the rear of the console. Remove the timer knob by pulling it off the timer stem. Next, remove the screws securing the back panel. Now you can see the timer. Remove the screws mounting the timer but leave the wires on. Next, mount the new timer and transfer the wires one by one to the new timer. After all of the wires are connected, reinstall the panel and the knob. Plug the dryer in and check the operation.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the new timer. I had the same question earlier this month. I have added a link to that question. The customer did not reply back saying if the problem resolved. Please click on the link below. If you need, further assistance let me know and I can contact the manufacture on Monday to see if they have had any issues with the part and if it was changed if I can get a copy of how it should be wired.

Thank you for the reply. It is possible that the wrong part was sent because when I checked the history of the part it has never changed or substituted. The timer should be the same. I recommend reordering the timer and see if it comes in correct this time. The link to the question I gave you was one I had earlier in the month. I had called the manufacture's parts department and they said the part should be the same so advised him to reorder the timer. He never responded back so I cannot confirm if he has resolved the problem. please let me know how this works out.
