Question and Answers

What would prevent my Kenmore dryer from starting?

I assume when you say that the dryer is getting electricity, you checked it with a voltage meter while pressing start. The voltage supply should be 220-240 volts when measuring across Line one (L1) and Line two (L2).

In order for the dryer to start, the timer must close timer contact (Y) to (BG) when set. The door switch must close contact D1 to D4 and D5 to D2 when the door is shut and the push to start switch must momentarily close when it’s pushed or it will not start.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.
