Question and Answers

Q:

Kenemore model#11062922100 will not start.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The voltage supply should be first measured and verified. The voltage should be measured at the back of the dryer where the power cord attaches. The voltage is measured across the two outside terminals and then across the center terminal to each outside terminal. The voltage must measure 220 volts when measuring across the two outside terminals and when measuring from the center terminal to each outside terminals it should measure 110 volts. NOTE I do not recommend measuring voltage unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.

If the voltage supply is correct, I would suspect a faulty thermal fuse. Also, if the belt happens to break of come off the motor pulley, the belt switch will break the electrical circuit to the motor. The thermal fuse (key#59) is located on the blower wheel housing. See image below. The thermal fuse can be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. I added an image below of the wiring diagram and I traced the motor circuit in red and green.

To access the thermal fuse will require removing the front lower access panel. I added a YouTube video showing how to test the thermal fuse using an Ohm meter.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

how to install heater element kenmore dryer # 11062922100

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. I added an image below with the instructions for replacing the heating element. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the front lower access panel.

If replacing the heater does not resolve the failure, then each on of the components I have circled in red could potentially fail and prevent voltage from the heating element. The heating element must have L1 and L2 voltages supplied to the heater or it will not heat. I do not recommend checking voltages unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so, otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to come out and repair your dryer. Also, if one of the two house circuit breakers has tripped dedicated for the dryer, it will run, but it won't heat. Reset both circuit breakers and then see if the dryer will heat.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
