Question and Answers

Why won't my Kenmore dryer model 11062702100 start when the button is pushed?

Several different problems could prevent your dryer from running. First, check to see if the drum light turns on when the dryer door is opened. If it does not, then you need to check the breaker to make sure that it is not tripped. If the breaker is okay, check for proper voltage at the outlet using the first image below as a guide. NOTE: You should only check this live voltage if you are completely confident that you can safely make this measurement using a volt/ohm meter.

The wiring diagram for your dryer is shown in the second image. This diagram shows several components that could prevent the dryer from running. I recommend unplugging the dryer and checking the thermal fuse. To access this fuse, remove the back panel. The thermal fuse is located on the blower housing. It will have blue wires attached to it. It is Key 59 in the third image below. To check this fuse remove at least one wire and measure the resistance across the leads of the fuse using a volt/ohm meter. You should measure near zero ohms of resistance (continuity). If you measure infinite resistance (open), then the fuse is blown and will need to be replaced. NOTE: If the thermal fuse is blown, I recommend checking for a restricted exhaust vent that could cause this fuse to blow.

If the thermal fuse is okay, you could have a bad door switch that is breaking the neutral in your drive motor circuit. You could also have bad contact in your timer or a failed drive motor. A wiring failure between components could also prevent your dryer from running.
