There could be one out of several possible component failures preventing your dryer from heating:Thanks for contacting I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your dryer not heating. We are here to help. In order to diagnose the failure will require the basic steps. First, the voltage supply to the dryer needs to be verified at the terminal block at the back of the dryer. NOTE: Do not check voltages unless you feel safe and confident in doing so. The dryer must have 240vac in order to run and heat. If one breaker trips, it can run but will not heat. I recommend locating the two (2) breakers dedicated for the dryer, in you house breaker box. Next, flip both breakers OFF and back ON and then recheck your dryer for heat. If that did not correct the problem, there could be one out of several possible component failures preventing your dryer from heating:
  • An open thermal fuse
  • An open high limit thermostat
  • An open heating element
  • Motor centrifugal switch
  • Burnt wire connection

In order to know which one of the components has failed will require testing the components for continuity with an ohm meter. The images below should help you open the dryer so the components can be tested with the meter. The images are for a newer dryer. However, your dryer will still basically open the same. There is no exact images available. I hope this help.
