Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore HE2 washer 11047532601

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The F22 error will display if the is a door lock error. Usually F22 will display if the door lock fails to lock the door. If the door lock fails to lock after 6 attempts, F22 would display. You said the door is locked and will not open. If the washer fails to drain water for any reason, the door will not unlock. So, if there is water in the bottom of the tub and the drain pump is not running, then it could have a jammed drain pump or a failed drain pump. Note; the washer will not fill if there is water already in the tub. If the washer is empty of water and the drain pump operates, then it could have faulty door lock assembly. If it does have water in the tub, remember the door will not unlock. Drain the water, install the old control board and then see how it operates.

The F28 error code will display if there is a communication failure between the central control unit (CCU) and the motor control unit (MCU). The wire connections should be checked on the CCU and the MCU for any loose or bad connections.

You can manually unlock the door by removing the front lower access panel and reaching up under the door lock mechanism and pulling down on the pull ring. After pulling the pull ring, you can open the door. Also, check the drain pump to see if it jammed or possibly the drain pump filter could be clogged preventing the washer from draining.

The F28 error code is not always easy to diagnose and locate the faulty component. I strongly suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer. Calling a technician can save you money and frustration.

Q:

Why does my Kenmore washer model 11047532601 stop in mid-cycle and display error code F30?

A:

The technical manual is not available in our online information system. There is normally a tech sheet inside the cabinet of the washer. It will have the wiring diagram and technical information needed to diagnose and repair virtually any failure in the washer. I have provided a full copy of the tech sheet in the first two images below. This information is intended for technicians. Follow electrical safety guidelines when using this information. Be sure that you unplug the washer when accessing internal components. Do not attempt any test that you are not completely confident that you can safely complete.

This technical information shows that the F30 indicates a problem with the dispenser. I provided the access and testing information for the dispenser motor and switch assembly in the third image below. Unplug the washer and remove the top panel to access the dispenser motor and switch assembly. You can check the linkage for damage or free it up if it is jammed. If the motor has failed, it will need to be replaced.

You can view a parts list diagram and order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website.

I hope that this extensive technical information will help you diagnose and repair your washer. If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.

Q:

Washer won't turn on, Kenmore HE2 plus model 11047532601. It quit in the spin cycle.

A:

I am including a portion of the tech sheet that addresses no response from buttons (see image below). I have also included teardown instructions and the wiring diagram to help you locate the machine control board and user interface.

  • Unplug the washer.
  • Let the washer sit unplugged for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Plug the washer back in and listen for a click on the machine control board.
    • If no click is heard, replace the machine control board.
  • If the control clicks, check the wiring and connections to the user interface.
    • If good replace the user interface.

I have included a link that you may use for parts purchases; please click the following Sears Parts Direct

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
