Q:

Replacing Drain Hose? 11047511701 Kenmore Residential washer

A:

Yes. You will need to remove that back panel of the washer. Unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

You will also need to remove the bottom front service panel to disconnect that drain hose from the drain pump. Remove the screws at the very bottom of that front panel. You may need to prop the front of the washer up on a block of wood to access those screws. Remove the screws and then pull down and out on the front panel. Remove the spring clamp on the drain hose. Be prepared for water to spill out of the connection. Pull the hose off of the pump. You can then remove and replace that drain hose.

Q:

Kenmore Model # 11047511701 front load washer will shut down and only the door lock light stays on. 11047511701

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The first thing to check is too see if the washer is draining water. It could have a restricted drain pump filter preventing it from draining. You can access and clean the drain pump filter located behind the lower access panel. To remove the lower access panel; disconnect the power cord and then remove the screws along the bottom of the lower access panel.  Be sure to evacuate all the water from the washer before removing the drain pump filter cap. Be aware some water will pour out. Have a large old towel handy. You can use a wet/dry shop vacuum to draw the water out through the end of the drain hose if the washer is not draining before removing the drain pump filter cap.

Based your symptom and details, the one minute in the display will hang up there if the washer is has sensed an "out of balance condition, oversuds or if it's not able to drain water.  If you leave the washer alone, it should display a fault code. If the washer is not able to clear the suds by going through the suds routine, or drain the door is not going to unlock.

Display counts down to "1" minute, but continues to tumble for up to 45 minutes after that before shutting down. According to the algorithm, when the washer senses an “Out of Balance” condition it will attempt to go through a rebalance and then finish the spin cycle. The maximum number of rebalance attempts that are allowed is 12 and each rebalance can take around 2-3 minutes to end, therefore the washer can run another 30 minutes or so if it never balances itself before it shuts off.  If the clothes are wet at the end of the cycle this is the most likely scenario.  However it could also be extended if it detects suds and goes through a suds routine.

NOTE:  The easiest way to tell the difference between the two is the suds routine will bring in water to help knock the suds down while the rebalance routine will not.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
