Question and Answers

Q:

model 11045862400 door is locked shut-cannot unlock

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You didn't indicate if the washer is displaying any fault codes or not. Generally speaking when the door will not unlock indicates the washer is not able to drain water because of a faulty drain pump or a restriction or blockage in the drain pump filter or hose. It could also mean a faulty door lock, machine control board, water level pressure switch or drain pump and it should have displayed a fault code.

In order to unlock the door will require disconnecting the power cord from the power source and then removing the lower access panel. You can reach up under the door lock assembly and pull downwards on the pull ring which is attached to the bottom of the door lock assembly. Pull down and once you hear a click, the door can be opened. After opening the door and removing the clothes, shut the door and press Drain and Spin and the listen to see if the drain motor is running and pumping out water. If it's running and not draining, disconnect the power cord and then remove the water from the basket before removing the pump filter and checking for a blockage or restriction. I added the instructions in the images below.

Q:

answers to f11 on my kenmore elite washer model 11045862400

A:

Hello,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

Here is a link to a similar washer with the same problem; F-11 and DL code . Follow the troubleshooting Mark included in his answer. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

I hope this is helpful. Check the things covered here, and if I may be of further assistance, include more details, in a reply to this post.

Q:

why is my kenmore elite modle # 11045862400 showing error f06

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The second link Alina provided in the first response is good information. As you know by reading the link that "F06" indicates a Drive motor tachometer error.

The fault code "F06" indicates the control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the washer will shut down. If the failure happens during high speed spin, the door will unlock after three minutes.

If you're not getting any motor action at all, it could have a faulty motor control board. If the motor will run then intermittently stop and display "F06" then it likely has intermittent wire connection at the motor control board, motor or the central control board.

This specific failure code can be hard to diagnose and I recommend calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair your washer. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
