Q:

My Kenmore washer front load beeps every few minutes. I notice that it doesn't even take in enough water to wash the clothes. model# 11044934200

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

High Efficiency washers (HE) will not fill with a lot of water and that's the way they are designed. If the clothes absorb enough water, the washer will add more water. If there was a problem with the fill cycles, the washer would stop and display a fault code of (FH). You did not mention any fault codes being displayed so the fill level is likely normal.

As far as the beeping, it could have faulty user interface board or possibly a faulty machine control board. When it beeps, is it displaying a fault code in the display? The washer is capable of displaying 15 or more codes if the control detects any failures.

If you feel there is problem, I suggest calling a service technician or if it is displaying a fault code, reply with the fault code and I let you know what it means and the possible cause.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.

sonnie: The "FH" fault code will display if after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering the washer, the water inlet valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. Or If the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow sensor has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. Is the washer taking a long to fill? Is the hot or cold water coming slow? You may want to turn the hot and cold water supply valve off and then remove the hot and cold fill hoses from the back of the washer. Inside the ports where the fill hoses connects is filter screen. If the filter screens are restricted with debris, the water flow will be restricted. You can carefully pry the screens out for cleaning. DO NOT leave the screens out or it could cause the water inlet valve to stick open and cause a flood.
