Question and Answers

Q:

How do I replace the gray rubber seal on the front of my Kenmore washer?

A:

First, I recommend ordering the part if you have not already done this. You can order the replacement bellows (gray seal) from the Sears PartsDirect website [www.searspartsdirect.com]. The part number is 8181850.

Once you receive the part, follow the steps in the following link of a previous answer to install the bellows seal: How do I replace the bellows seal on my Kenmore washer?

Q:

hi i have a kenmore he3 front load washer,,flashing code f6

A:

Hi Joe,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The F06 error code on this washer indicates that the control board is unable to properly detect drive motor speed. This can be caused by a wiring failure between the motor control board and the central control board. It can also be caused by a wiring failure between the motor control board and the drive motor. A failed drive motor or a bad motor control board can also cause this failure.

If you are able to unplug the washer and safely access internal components, you can check the wiring for loose connections. The image below shows the locations of components in your model of washer. To access the central control board (central control unit), you will need to remove the top panel of the washer. To remove the top panel, remove the screws at the very back of the top panel. Pull the panel back and then up and off of the washer. The drive motor is accessed through the back panel and the motor control can be accessed by removing the bottom front service panel. Screws at the very bottom of the front service panel secure it to the washer cabinet. Remove these screws and then pull the service panel out and off of the front of the washer. To remove the back panel, remove the screws that secure it to the washer cabinet. Access to the motor and the motor control board will be limited. If you are able to find and correct a loose wire harness connection, you may be able to fix this problem yourself. If not, then you will likely need a service technician to repair the washer.

If wiring connections are okay, then your failure could be in the motor control board or the drive motor.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance please reply to this post.
