Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore washer model 11044722400, perm press blinking.

A:

Hi Tina,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I understand how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

The permanent press led does not signify an error code. Most likely the lid switch is bad or poorly connected.

I highly recommend having a trained service technician evaluate this problem. This particular washer is hard to diagnose even with trained technicians. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I have included a set of images below that will guide you through gaining access to the lid switch. If you are confident in your technical abilities you may choose to bypass the lid switch to determine if it is in need of replacement. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. You will need to disconnect power and gain access to the lid switch. You will then need to connect the black/white wire to the grey wire. This may be accomplished with an extra piece of wire with both ends stripped back approximately a quarter of an inch. Tape all exposed wire very well with electrical tape, and make sure it can’t come in contact with other wires or with each other. Plug the washer back in and try to start a cycle. If this works you will need to replace the lid switch. The lid switch for this model may be purchased Here .

NOTE: DO NOT leave the lid switch bypassed, this can ruin very expensive electronics and could cause a fire.

Beyond this check, as I stated above I highly recommend letting a trained service technician continue with the diagnosis of this issue.

I hope this is helpful. Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Q:

What size is a standard faucet adapter?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to know the size of the adapter to see if it will fit your faucet.

• If you have an aerator on your faucet, it will likely fit the adapter that comes with the washer. The new machine will come with the faucet coupling that will fit a lot of faucets and one adapter that will fit most faucets. But there are just too many different sizes to be able to tell you if it will fit.

• There are a number of different designs on faucet head aerators, the ones with outside thread and ones with inside thread of differing thread sizes.

• If when you install the washer, and if the adapter does not fit, I would suggest you take the washer coupling connection adapter and take the sink faucet aerator and take them both to the hardware/home center and you should be able to find the correct size to get the washer to connect to your sink.

• If you do not have an aerator on you sink faucet it may require a special fitting that you may have a handyman or a plumber install.

I have given you a picture of couple adapters below with there sizes.

I hope this will help with your
