Question and Answers

Q:

I have a Kenmore 400 washing machine that won't cycle through. Does this model have a belt or is it possibly the timer switch?

A:

Hi Amber,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

There are a number of things that can cause this washer to stop or skip portions of cycles. You do not give many details. If your washer will fill and agitate but will not drain, this is most likely a faulty lid switch. If your washer will not spin but will agitate this could be an issue with the timer, clutch, or gearcase.
