Question and Answers

Q:

kenmore elite washer 11028087700 not filling for the rinse cycle?

A:

Based on your description, it is possible that you have a problem with the machine control board in the console. The image below shows that cold water valve circuit. The voltage supply from the control board is traced in violet. Check to see if the cold water valve is opening and working in the wash portion of the cycle. If it does, then you will need to replace the machine control board (part W10189967). You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

If the washer will not fill with cold water in the wash cycle, then I recommend that you unplug the washer and check the resistance through the fill valve circuit. You should measure around 800 ohms of resistance through that circuit. If you do then the machine control board will need to be replaced.

These tips should help you resolve this cold water fill problem in your washer. If you need more help, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Replace Dispenser 11028087700 Kenmore Elite Residential washer

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

First, disconnect the power cord from the power
source.

The bezel sitting on top of the fabric dispenser must be pried off of the top of the fabric dispenser.

Use a small screwdriver and pry out on the three dispenser cover tabs while you lift the cover off the dispenser.

Squeeze the bottom of the dispenser, and release the hooked segments at the top of the dispenser from the cabinet, then push the dispenser down and out of its cutout.

Raise the cabinet top by inserting a putty knife between the top and the front panel. Insert the putty knife 6 1/2" from the left and right corners of the top. Press the locking tab inwards and lift one corner up a little and repeat steps for the other corner and raise the top. Disconnect the fabric dispenser hose from the bottom of the dispenser. Reverse the procedure to install the fabric dispenser.

I hope this helpful.

Andy: The tub seal is part of the shaft assembly kit as shown in the image I provided in the last response. I don't think you can get the tub seal separately at this time. Before the shaft kit was available, the complete outer tub assembly with the shaft, bearings and seal came as one complete assembly.
