Question and Answers

Q:

kenmore washing machine

A:

Hi Joe,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The target temperature for cool on this washer is 62 degrees Fahrenheit (see table below). If the water coming out of your tap is at or above 62 degrees, the temperature controller (bi-metal) will not allow hot water to mix with the cold (since the target temperature has already been met). The only thing you can do is start a hot wash and then switch to cool if the temperatures are not satisfactory.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Q:

I need to take the top off my Kenmore series 600 washing machine to be able to fit the door hinges back on. washing machine won't work with the hinges off.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you with installing the lid. The top of your washer will not separate from the cabinet. You have to remove the whole cabinet to assess the area where the hinge is attached. First, unplug the washer from the wall then use the image posted below to open console and remove the cabinet. Once it is removed you can access the area where the hinge goes into the cabinet. When it is positioned correctly the left hinge will activate the lid switch.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on repairing the washer by replying to this post.
