Question and Answers

Q:

I had change (coins) in my pocket now in my washer machine how do i get them out??? heard it could burn up my motor is that true???

A:

You can remove the impeller and the spin basket using the procedure shown in the image below. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing this area. If you don't find the coins under the impeller or between the spin basket and the outer tub, then you may need to check the dryer.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Q:

My Kenmore Elite, model# 11027072604, stopped in the middle of a load while washing. the code "LD" flashed on the screen. Motor only hums & wont drain. Why?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "LD" fault code is indicating Long Drain. This means it's either not draining or it's taking too long to drain. Based on your symptom and details the humming noise is likely emitting from the drain pump assembly because it's likely jammed or restricted with some small garment or object.

If you feel confident it removing and inspecting the drain pump for a restriction or garment, I added an image below with instructions for removing the drain pump. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your washer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
