Q:

Why does my kenmore washer with model # 11027062600 give me a F1 code when I start a new load of wash. It happens wher.n it is initally filling with wate

A:

Thank you for your question.

The F1 fault code on this washer indicates that the water level pressure transducer signal is out of range. The pressure transducer air hose tubing being pinched or crimped can cause this. A failed pressure transducer on the machine control board can also cause it.

The first image below shows the method for accessing the pressure transducer tube that runs from the bottom of the washer tub to the machine control. I recommend checking this air hose for pinches, twists or crimps. NOTE: Be sure to unplug the washer to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.

If you find no problems with the pressure transducer tube, then the machine control board will need to be replaced. The procedure for accessing and replacing the machine control board is shown in the second image below. The part number for the machine control board is W10189966. You can order this part from the Sears Parts Direct website www.searspartsdirect.com .

Make sure to unplug the washer before attempting any repair of the washer.

Q:

Top load Kenmore washer #11027062600 is leaking from the bottom. It looks like there is residue from the bushings, looks like water was leaking from there,

A:

Hi Larry,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

From your description I assume the leak is coming from the center of the tub above the stator. This is most likely the bearing seal. There are two ways of repairing this. One way is to replace the outer tub, and the other way involves replacing the bearing and seals. Both of these repairs are very labor intense. The tub with the bearings is covered under warranty for 10 years. If your washer is less than 10 years old, I highly recommend having a trained service technician evaluate this problem. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . You will be responsible for the labor and any additional parts if needed. Sears currently charges a flat rate for labor of $129.00.

If you want to repair this washer yourself, reply to this post and I will be happy to assist you further.
