Question and Answers

Q:

How can I get instructions on replacing the "Coupler" on my Kenmore Washer Mod # 11026955690?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the washer. I have posted the instructions for replacing the coupler on the washer. Please make sure to unplug the washer before you open the console to remove the cabinet. Once the console is opened, you will see a plastic cover. You have to lift the cover and disconnect the hoses on your model. Then the cabinet can be removed. I have also found a video that shows how to replace the coupler. I think it will give you more confidence on repairing the washer yourself. Please click here to watch the video .

Please let me know if you further assistance on the washer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

my washer does not spin

A:

Thank you for your question.

I appreciate the details of the problem you are having. I believe the problem is with the drive block and the basket drive. If the basket drive comes loose, you will hear a load thumping noise after the spin cycle until the basket stops. If the problem is not taken care of, the basket drive will eventfully eat through the drive block and not spin at all. This is where you are now. I recommend removing the agitator to inspect the drive. If the drive block is below the top of the basket drive, they need to be replaced. To repair the washer the drive block and basket drive has to be replaced. This is a major repair. I have provided you with the instructions for replacing the basket drive and drive block. I have been looking for a video to show you how to repair the washer but did not find exactly what I was looking for. I did find a video for replacing the drive block. Please click here to watch the video . Then click on this link to watch a video on how to remove the transmission to access the basket drive . Once the transmission is removed you can take the basket drive out.

The parts can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

Please let me know if you need further assistance.
