Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore 11026852503 top load washer and it rattles when in use

A:

The parts that you are describing are the shipping pins. These were pulled out during the installation of the washer and purposely fell down into the plastic cups. They should not be replaced. They can be removed and discarded. The plastic cups were in place the catch them when they were removed during installation. This keeps them from falling down on the floor during installation.

The rattling in the washer could be caused by a number of different problems. You could have a problem with the suspension at the bottom of the tub or you could have a loose spanner nut. A problem with the basket drive could also cause this rattling noise. The links for previous answers provided in the above response by Jacqueline S. describe these types of failures. I recommend that you have a Sears Service technician visit your home and physically examine the washer to determine the cause of the rattling. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you are confident in your mechanical abilities and you are willing to open the cabinet of the washer to check some issues that could be causing this noise, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Q:

model # 11026852503 after rinse cycle makes loud noise this is a new machine no warranty (purchased used but only 2 months old)

A:

Hi Dale,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

You did not mention if the noise you are hearing happens once or lasts the entire spin cycle. On this 2005 model, if you are hearing a loud clunk, this is most likely the gears engaging after the drain and before spin. This is a normal washer noise. If this is not what you are hearing, please reply to this post with more details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please reply to this post.
