Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore Washer Transmission Oil Fill Spot

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It will not cause any harm if a little bit of oil has leaked out. There is no place to add oil unless you remove the transmission and transmission cover. There is a very little vent hole on top of the transmission cover that you could possible inject some oil in to. It holds approximately 16 oz of 90W gear oil.

Q:

A belt came out of the washer while replacing the coupler. What is it and where does it go?

A:

Thank you for your question on the (belt) for the direct drive washer.

The part that you found is not a belt.

It is a piece of sound deadening material to cut the noise down on the clutch and brake drum.

The machine will operate fine without it.

Depending on how much oil leaked out you may not have to worry about it if it was up to a half a cup.

If it was more than that you can replace it with 80/90 transmission oil that you can purchase at an auto supply store. I think the minimum you can by is a quart.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
