Question and Answers

Q:

kenmore elite model 11024942300 is leaking water from the backr

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There are many places where water could be leaking from. If the tub happens to be leaning forwards when water is entering the tub, it can hit the top of the tub cover and splash over and leak on the floor.

The drain pump could be leaking water and running towards the back.

The washer cabinet is easily removed from the base so that you can locate and repair the leak. The console must be placed in the service position by inserting a putty knife under the control panel end caps to release the clip. Once the control panel has been released, slide the control panel forwards and the lift it up and hinge it over the rear panel. Then you will need to disconnect the lid switch harness connector and remove both cabinet clips. See images below for complete instructions.

Q:

Washer Kenmore 11024942300, filling and agitating at the same time. Doesn't overflow.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with your washer. Usually when this happens, it is because of the load sense switch. The relay in the switch sticks and allows the washer to fill and agitate at the same time. A simple check is to access the load sense switch and unplugging the wires to it. Then check the operation. I have provided you with the instructions for accessing the load sense switch below. Make sure you unplug the washer first. Once the console is open the load sense switch it the switch that has the clear plastic hose connected to it. Remove the connector that has the violet, white and the blue with orange stripe from the switch. Then carefully plug the washer back in and start a wash cycle. If the washer does not do anything, you have to replace the load sense switch. If the washer still agitates, the problem is most likely a failed timer.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance.

Q:

Cracked Plastic Tub

A:

Hi Mark,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

Here is a video that will demonstrate replacing the tub seal; Video . This video shows gaining access to and removing the tub. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. This video is for demonstration purposes only. This washer may not look exactly like yours, but the procedure is basically the same.

If you are replacing the tub (8283125) and gasket (383727), I recommend replacing the drive block (389140) while you are there.
