Question and Answers

Q:

i have a kenmore calypso washer and it will not go through the rinse cycle i can hear a spinning noise perhaps the pump but it does not evacuate the water

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. If your washer is not draining but you hear the drain pump running, then there is likely some type of garment or object stuck in the sump area located at the bottom side of the tub or in the hoses.

If something gets stuck inside the sump canister and prevents the two check balls from seating correctly, the washer will not drain. I added an image below showing how it operates.

There are two ways to access the inside of the sump, removing the basket or by removing the two hoses connected to the sump and attempting to remove the item through the hose fittings.

Q:

changing drive belt

A:

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you replace the belt on your washer. I have provided you with the instructions for replacing the belt below. I do not recommend tipping the washer on its back. Any water left in it can run out. I recommend pulling the washer out from the wall then tip it back against the wall. Have someone hold the washer back so it does not fall when you are under it working. Then follow the instructions in the image below.

If you need the belt it can be ordered from Sears parts direct .

Please feel free to reply with more details if you need further assistance.

Q:

Where does the power cord plug into the washer

A:

Hi Diana,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

You will need to purchase the power cord (part number 8310666). The power cord is replaced by removing the small rectangular cover on the back of the washer and then plugging the power cord into the harness (see image below). Reinstall the cover and you are done.
