Q:

Kenmore Elite 11023032100 11023032100 Kenmore Washer

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details I suspect a stuck contact inside the water level pressure switch. Inside the console is the water level pressure switch which its purpose is to allow the water to fill to the desired level and once it reaches the level, one set of contacts open to shut off the water and the other set closes to begin the agitation.

The pressure switch can be tested with an Ohm meter. The wires will need to be disconnected from the pressure switch. There will be three terminals on the pressure switch. When the washer is empty of water, terminals V and P should be closed or it will not fill with water. When you place the Ohm meter leads across terminals V and P; the meter should measure continuity.

When the washer is full of water, terminals V and P should open to stop the fill cycle and then terminals V and T should close to start the motor for agitation.

In order to access the water level pressure switch you must place the control panel in the service position. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

To place the control panel in the service position:

  • Remove the left and right hand end caps at both ends of the control panel. Lift the rear upper edge of the end cap over up and pull it towards you.
  • Remove the screw at the bottom of each end cap.
  • Slide the control panel towards you and lift it up and hinge it over the rear panel.
  • To remove the pressure switch; lift the locking tab and rotate the switch approximately 30 degrees clockwise. See image below.

Q:

repair agitator for kenmore elite 11023032100

A:

Thanks for your question. Once the fabric dispenser (key#1) has been removed, remove the barrier cap. Once the barrier cap has been pulled off, you will see a square recessed plastic stem called the spring retainer (key#19). You will need a 1/2 inch drive ratchet extension and place the male end of the extension into the square recessed area of the spring retainer (key#19) and removing it by turning it counterclockwise (CCW). Once you have the spring retainer removed, grasp the augur (key#12) and pull it up and off. Once the augur has been removed, you will then see the bolt (key#2). Remove the bolt and then the agitator (key#20) can be removed. Reference the image I added below.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you with replacing the agitator dogs. The part number for the dogs is 80040.

To replace the dogs please follow these steps.

  1. Remove the fabric softener dispenser from the top of the agitator.
  2. Remove the agitator cover by pulling it up.
  3. You should see a plastic piece that has a square hole in the center. You need to insert a 1/2 inch drive extension into the hole. Then turn it counter clockwise to remove this retainer.
  4. Remove the cam out of the top portion of the agitator and replace the dogs.
  5. Reassemble the washer in the reverse order and test the operation.
