Question and Answers

Q:

How do I remove the agitator for Kenmore 11022922101?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I know what style you have. Your style has a plastic nut that has a recessed square hole. Please follow the instructions I have written of replacing the dogs on this model. After you have, the plastic nut off you can lift the top portion of the agitator out. Then you will see a stud that has to be removed to take the bottom portion out.

To replace the dogs please follow these steps.

  1. Remove the fabric softener dispenser from the top of the agitator.
  2. Remove the agitator cover by pulling it up.
  3. You should see a plastic piece that has a square hole in the center. You need to insert a 1/2 inch drive extension into the hole. Then turn it counter clockwise to remove this retainer.
  4. Remove the cam out of the top portion of the agitator and replace the dogs.
  5. Reassemble the washer in the reverse order and test the operation.

I have provided you with an image below the aid in replacing the dogs. Your model is slightly different from the image but the dogs sit in the came the same.
