Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore washer #11022082102: Unit will turn on even though cord & control board get power, but I can't get power to come out.

A:

Hi Dan,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

According to the model number you gave me, you received the correct control board. The P17 connector on this board has been bypassed. The P17 on the old board was for the recirculation pressure switch; this pressure switch is no longer used. You will need to tape the wires that went to the P17 up and out of the way.

This washer has a test routine that will help in diagnosing any potential issues, and will reveal a fault code. I am including this testing information in the images below. I recommend running the automatic test first.

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed. I am looking forward to assisting you again in the near future.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Hi Dan, I misunderstood what you wrote in the original question, I thought you said "unit will turn on". I also included the touchpad checks (test 4) in the images I sent you. If you have power to the control but no lights, this would be what you need to check next. Landell

Hi Dan, From what you are telling me you need to replace the touchpad. You will need to order the console and pick the color you want/need 8527624 CONSOLE (BISQUE), 8527625 CONSOLE (GRAPHITE), or 8527623 CONSOLE (WHITE). If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post. Thanks again for using Manage My Life. Landell
