Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore Elite Washer 110-22066102

A:

That table B refers to the wires in the harness that is shown in the image below on that motor. Since you determined that the resistance checks on Table A were good, you can skip those checks on Table B. Your details in your last post seem to indicate that you have determined that you may have a bad U-Joint in the washer and that the wash plate was destroyed. You can unplug the washer and pull the wash plate as shown in the image below to check for an item stuck underneath that wash plate that could have caused that damage.

A failed U-Joint is a common failure that will cause the CA and CI codes and the damage to the wash plate. That U-Joint Kit is part number 285927. You can order it from the Sears PartsDirect website. Here is a direct link for that part: U-Joint Kit . You will probably need other parts as well. NOTE: That kit is difficult to install properly. I do not recommend that you order that kit and try to install it yourself on this washer. If certain details of reassembly are missed, the washer will not operate properly and the U-Joint will be damaged and will fail prematurely. My best advice is to replace this washer instead of trying to repair it if it has a bad U-Joint. If you want to proceed with the repair, let us know and we can provide you with all of the help and advice available to fix the washer. Just reply back to this thread and we ill assist you further.

If you want to have a service technician repair this washer failure, you can schedule one through this link: Sears Home Services .

NOTE: Please do not get the impression that I doubt your technical ability to fix this washer problem yourself. (You have demonstrated your technical ability by checking that motor.) I am just aware of some minor details in the installation of that kit and reassembly of the washer that can cause major problems. Spending $180 on a kit (not including other parts that will probably be needed) that may fix the washer for only a short period of time is a huge risk in my opinion. I hope that this information helps.

Q:

I have a Kenmore Elite Calypso washer #11022066102 and CL error appears on the display. It will clear a few seconds and reappear. What could be the problem?

A:

Hi Gonul,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

There is not a "CL" error code for this washer that I am aware of. I think what you are seeing is a "CI". The "CI" fault indicates that there was an instantaneous current spike of 26 amps at the motor windings in the washer. This could be caused by overloading the washer. It can also be caused by problems with the drive motor, thermal protector or the motor controller.

You should have been able to clear the display by pressing the STOP/CANCEL button. If you try running the washer again and continue to get this fault code even with a small or medium load, I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the washer. The diagnosis of this issue is difficult and will require the use of a volt/ohm meter.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

If you have a meter and are confident in your technical abilities please reply below and I will be happy to assist you further.
