Question and Answers

Q:

Anyone know how to troubleshoot the drain cycle on a Kenmore washer?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the dull hum is emitting from the drain pump, it could have something stuck in the pump preventing it from running. The voltage supply should be measured at the drain pump when it should be draining. If the drain pump is getting the proper voltage supply (120V), and it's not jammed, replace the drain pump. NOTE: I do not recommend measuring the voltage supply to the drain pump unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer.

I added an image below of a partial wiring diagram. If the image is too small, I will add an additional response with another image.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
