Q:

washer agitates, drains, but does not spindry 11020172001 Kenmore Commerical automatic washer

A:

Try this quick test first:

Allow the washer to advance to the drain and spin cycle. After the washer drains out all of the water, the timer should pause the motor to set the spin pawl and the washer should then begin to spin the basket. If the washer does not pause, manually interrupt the drain and spin cycle by opening the lid (if possible since this is a commercial model). Wait a couple of seconds and then close the washer lid. See if the basket begins to spin. If it does, then the timer will need to be replaced.

If the timer is okay, check your reassembly. Make sure that the hub for the spin basket was replaced properly and that the spanner nut is tight.

If the hub and spanner nut are both okay, then you could have a problem with the basket drive. Since you replaced the clutch assembly, you should be able to access the basket drive. Check the plastic brake cam driver on the basket drive. Replace that component if it is broken.

If the brake cam driver is okay, then you may have a failed transmission.

I hope that this information helps. If you need further assistance, let us know.

Q:

If the orange "Washing/Rinsing" light turns on but nothing happens, which part is defective.

A:

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

This is most likely an issue with a bad door switch. This can also be caused by a bad timer, wiring, water level switch, or faulty fill valves. The diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please reply below and I will be happy to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please reply to this post.

Hi Patrick, The first thing you will need to check is violet to tan across the water level switch for voltage AC. You will need to do this with the washer started in a fill. Working with live electrical current can be very hazardous and possibly deadly. Do not attempt these measurements without the proper tools and safeguards. If you are not already sure you can perform these checks safely and competently, refer this work to a qualified professional. I have included the wiring diagram for this washer in the image below. Please reply with the results of this check. Landell
