Question and Answers

Why is water constantly dripping from an area just above the top shelf in my refrigerator?

Your refrigerator goes into a self defrosting cycle every 8-10 hours to defrost ice that accumulates on the evaporator coils. The evaporator coils are located behind the rear panel inside the freezer compartment. When the defrost heater turns on to melt the ice on the evaporator coils the water drips onto a drain trough and it channels the water down through the floor of the freezer into a drain tube and it travels down into the defrost drain pan. When the drain trough in the freezer becomes blocked with food or ice it will cause the water overflow the drain trough and it find its way down into the fresh food section. The rear panel will need to be removed to clean out the defrost drain hole in the drain trough.

You also want to check the ice maker fill tube leading to the rear of the ice maker. Water could be splashing out of the fill tube.

I added a link below with images of a typical freezer compartment to view.
