Question and Answers

Q:

How to replace water dispenser on fridge?

A:

Replacing the water line in the door is not a real difficult repair. start by unplugging the refrigerator.

  1. Then disconnect the water line below the door.
  2. You have to dismantle the dispenser to access the other end of the water tube. I have provided the instructions for removing the front cover of the dispenser .
  3. remove the bracket that holds the switches to access the waterline.
  4. Then remove the clamp securing the dispenser end of the water line.
  5. Pull the line out slightly so you can cut the dispenser end of the water line so it can be pulled out from the bottom of the door. Do not pull it out yet.
  6. Place the new tube end against the end of the line you just cut off. Then use electrical tape the hold the two lines together end to end.
  7. Now feed the new line into the dispenser. The old line should be pushed out the bottom of the door as you feed the new line in. The old line should guide the new line in and through the hinge.

Once the new line is in, reassemble the dispenser in the reverse order. If you need further assistance, please submit more details below with a model number.
