Question and Answers

Q:

how do i reset the Model #10658422700 - Kenmore Side by side refrigerator after it sat for awhile?

A:

That link for a previous answer that Alina F. posted in the above response has some good advice regarding this type of problem. That refrigerator is slightly different than yours but the tip about cycling the cold control thermostat is valid for your model. A portion of the wiring diagram for your refrigerator is shown in the image below with the voltage supply path to the compressor traced in red and orange. The problem that you are having could be caused by a stuck cold control thermostat or a failed electronic defrost control board. Make sure that your controls are both in the middle position when you plug the refrigerator in. If the control is in the OFF position when the refrigerator is plugged in, the electronic defrost control board will go into the defrost mode and the compressor will not start for about 30 minutes.

These tips may help you get the refrigerator running. If the compressor still won't start after following these tips, then you will probably need to have the unit serviced by a technician. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .
