Question and Answers

Q:

The ice dispenser motor on my Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator (model 10656822603) suddenly stopped. Could the motor have gotten water in it and frozen?

A:

Remove the ice bin from the door and run the dispenser motor. If it doesn't run the motor has ice inside it or the motor is bad.

You can turn the refrigerator off and remove the panel in the freezer door underneath the auger motor. Warm the motor with a hair dryer. If the motor still won't run, you need to replace it. You can take the motor out of the door through the opening underneath the auger motor, or get a technician to do it.
