Q:

We need to replace the water line from the water dispenser to the connection under the refrigerator. We need directions on how to get to the supply line in doo

A:

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having a problem with the dispenser line. I have looked up the model number you have submitted. The correct part number for the dispenser tube is 8201537. If you do not have this line, it will be difficult to get any other line to work. Once you have the correct part unplug the refrigerator and remove the grille from below the door. Then disconnect the water line from the connector below the door. The first image below will aid in disconnecting the line. Beware some water will drain onto the floor. Next, you have to remove the front panel on the freezer door. The second image below shows how to remove the panel. Once it is removed, remove the switch bracket. This part is in front of the water line. After it is out of the way, you have access to the water line. Remove the screw securing the line and pull it out of the door. Then cut the end of the new line at a sharp angle and feed it into the door. Once it is in cut the end square and reassemble the refrigerator in the reverse order. I hope this is helpful. Q:

I have a Kenmore Elite Side by Side Refrigerator and the Ice Maker just quit working it will not fill up with water anymore. I tried all obvious troubleshootin

A:

I am sending you some images showing how to remove the icemaker door and start the icemaker into a harvest cycle.

Remove the icemaker door and look at the fill tube above the icemaker. Sometimes the fill tube freezes up and stops the water from flowing. You can defrost the fill tube with a hair dryer.

If the fill tube is ok, start the icemaker through the harvest cycle and observe the operation. The icemaker should fill just before the ice rake get back to its original position. You should hear the solenoid on the water valve hum when the icemaker is filling.
