Question and Answers

kenmore refrigerator 10650793002 not cooling on refrigerator side. & how do i get the grill off so i can get to my coils.

That second link for a previous answer that James R. posted in the above response describes how to remove the front grill. You should be able to pull it straight off the front of the refrigerator. You may need to use a flat tip screwdriver to pry it off if it is difficult to remove. Cleaning the coils may help the cooling performance. You can also check these issues:

  • Make sure that the incoming air supply vent from the freezer side at the top of the divider wall between the compartments is not blocked.
  • Blocking the air return at the bottom of that wall can also cause cooling problems in the refrigerator side.
  • Check your settings on the refrigerator.
  • Check the inside back wall of the freezer for excessive ice or frost. This could indicate that you have a problem with the automatic defrost system in the refrigerator. Here is a link for a video that describes troubleshooting for that type of problem and other issues that could inhibit cooling in the refrigerator compartment: Video: Refrigerator Not Cooling Repair .

These tips may help you with this cooling problem in your refrigerator. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website if needed.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
