Question and Answers

water overflowing in ice maker 10650264990

If water is constantly trickling into that fill cup, then you probably have a problem with that fill valve. Before ordering any parts, I recommend that you take a few steps to verify that failure.

Unplug the refrigerator and then access and unplug the wire harness connection for the ice maker. This will prevent the ice maker assembly from sending any voltage to that water fill valve. If the leaking continues with that ice maker assembly unplugged, then the water valve will need to be replaced.

If the water does not continue to leak after unplugging the ice maker assembly, then I recommend that you defrost that fill cup. Unplug the refrigerator and reconnect the ice maker assembly to the power supply wiring harness in the freezer. See if the ice maker fills normally after defrosting that fill cup. If it does, then you won't need to replace any parts. If the ice maker continue to overfill with water then the ice maker assembly will probably need to be replaced.

Unplug the refrigerator before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

I hope that this information helps. If you need further assistance, reply with additional details.
