Q:

New belt on my 3" dustless belt sander #315.117150

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting the sanding belt to stay on the sander.

I see only one reference to the tracking screw in the manual.

It is the knob just below the front handle and turning this screw clockwise or counter clockwise when the unit is running will track the belt to stay in the middle of the platen.

It appears that maybe the tracking screw is not connected to the front roller which is how it does its tracking. Please check this area against the parts list to make sure all the parts are there and it is connected to the front roller yoke assembly.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Briggs and Stratton riding mower engine not getting spark?

A:

Thank you for your question on the no spark problem with your tractor engine.

It does sound like an ignition problem but since this is a twin cylinder both of the cylinder should not go dead at the same time.

There should be a white or a wire that attaches to the module on the armatures. Pull those wires off both armatures and see it the tractor will start.

If it does then you know you have a circuit in the wire harness that is causing a short and killing the spark to the armatures.

The air gap for the armatures is 0.012.

This tractor came with a transaxle switch, a clutch switch and an ignition switch. You said you checked the wire harness.

Please let me know what happens after you remove the kill wires going to the armatures.

A:

I am sorry that you misunderstood me. You are correct in that this model has only one armature for both spark plugs Some twin cylinders have two armatures one for each cylinder. Remove the small kill wire that attaches to the side of the armature. Reattach the spark plug wires to the spark plugs and then try to spin the engine over to test to see if you get fire to the spark plugs with that wire removed. If the tractor starts you will half to choke the tractor to kill it. If it does not fire you may need a new armature. Thank you. Sam A.
