Question and Answers

Q:

I need information on a Kenmore 3-n-1 deep cleaner carpet shampooer.

A:

The owners manual is no longer available for ordering. The deep cleaner does not have internal parts available for it.

If you have a specific question about the deep cleaner, send another email and ask the question. We might have someone that will know the answer. We will not be able to get assistance from the manufacturer.

Q:

lawnmower needs help

A:

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having a problem with your mower. If the drive was working after the repair, I recommend checking the drive cable tension with the engine off and the drive engaged. If the cable is tight, I recommend checking the friction wheel and the drive disc for oil. If either of these two parts have oil on them the drive will slip. If it does have oil on it, you will need to clean the oil off the parts with brake cleaner. Once it is clean, use some sand paper to rough up the surface of the drive disc. This will help grip the friction wheel better and improve the drive.   I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.  Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark T.

A:

If the bushing is missing and the assembly moves more that it should it could cause a loss of the drive function. I recommend replacing the bushing and inspect the friction ring. If the ring is dry and cracked I recommend replacing it also. When doing the repair I recommend cleaning the plate the friction wheel rides against with carburetor cleaner. Then scuff the surface with sand paper. Please let me know what you find.

Q:

My garage opener works fine in the warm months, why does the cold make the door difficult to close/open?

A:

From your description it sounds like the problem is in the door safety sensors rather than the mechanical drag on the door. Have you tried holding the button on the wall switch in? If the problem is in the door safety sensors you can override the sensors by holding the button on the wall switch in.

Bright sunlight can affect the infra-red transmission between the 2 sensors. Sometimes reversing the sensors will eliminate this problem.

Your garage door opener did not come with door safety sensors. I am assuming it has been upgraded to the door safety sensors. If it has not been upgraded you should buy a new safer garage door opener.
