These error code explanations can help you diagnose a problem with your LG bottom-freezer refrigerator.
Error codes appear on the control panel display when the electronic control board detects component failures. When an error code appears:
Match the error code on your refrigerator with the error code in the chart below.
Make sure that the condition listed with the error code is the same as the symptom(s) shown by your refrigerator.

The fan for the ice compartment failed
Icing fan blocked, ice fan motor is defective, wiring in the circuit is defective, or the control board has failed.
Evaporator fan failed
Fan motor, control board or wiring harness.
Condenser fan motor is defective
Condenser fan motor, wiring or the control board.
Communication error
Communication error between main board and display board.
Wi-Fi modem failure
Unplug the refrigerator and check the wiring connection between the Wi-Fi modem and the display control board. Reconnect any loose wires. If wiring connections are okay, replace the Wi-Fi modem. If the problem continues, replace the display control board.
Freezer compartment evaporator fan failure
Unplug the refrigerator and check the wiring connection between the freezer evaporator fan and the main control board. Reconnect any loose wires. If wiring connections are okay, replace the freezer evaporator fan. If the problem continues, replace the main control board.
Refrigerator compartment evaporator fan failure
Unplug the refrigerator and check the wiring connection between the refrigerator evaporator fan and the main control board. Reconnect any loose wires. If wiring connections are okay, replace the refrigerator evaporator fan. If the problem continues, replace the main control board.
Freezer compartment ice maker sensor failure
Unplug the refrigerator and check the wire harness connections from the freezer compartment ice maker to the main control board. Reconnect any loose wires. If wire harness connections are okay, replace the freezer compartment ice maker. If the problem continues, replace the main control board.
Freezer compartment ice maker assembly failure
Unplug the refrigerator and check the wire harness connections from the freezer compartment ice maker to the main control board. Reconnect any loose wires. If wire harness connections are okay, replace the freezer compartment ice maker. If the problem continues, replace the main control board.
