Error Code Condition Check/Repair Shop Parts
Ec Water or food is on the key panel The touch panel control board detects food or water on the touch key panel. Clean the panel. If the code persists when the key panel is clean, replace the touch panel control board.
Electronic control board
Eo An element overheated or its temperature is increasing too fast Check if an empty pan is being heated. Check the vents for blockage. Disconnect power and then check the fan for an obstruction. Check the wiring connections on the electronic control boards. If the problem persists, replace the element.
Surface element
E5 Defective filter control board Disconnect power for 30 seconds and then restore power. If the code returns, have an electrician verify that proper voltage is supplied to the cooktop. If voltage exceeds 208 volts replace the filter control board.
Electronic control board
E6 Defective generator control board Disconnect power for 30 seconds and then restore power. If the code returns, have an electrician verify that proper voltage is supplied to the cooktop. If voltage exceeds 208 volts, replace the generator control board.

E7 Unknown error in the system Disconnect power for 30 seconds and then restore power. If the code returns, disconnect power and check wiring connections between the control boards. If the wiring connections are good, replace the generator control board.

E9 Defective temperature sensor or the rate of element temperature increase is too fast Disconnect power for 30 seconds and then restore power. If the code returns, disconnect power and check the wiring connection between the element temperature sensor and the Generator Control Board. If the wiring connections are good, replace the element (the sensor is a component on the element). If the problem persists, replace the generator control board.
Surface element, Electronic control board
Er20 Defective touch control board Disconnect power for 30 seconds and then restore power. If the code returns, replace the touch control board.
Electronic control board
Er22 Defective touch control board Disconnect power for 30 seconds and then restore power. If the code returns, replace the touch control board.
Electronic control board
Er39 Defective touch control board Disconnect power for 30 seconds and then restore power. If the code returns, replace the touch control board.
Electronic control board
Er47 Communication failure in the ribbon cable between the Touch Control Board and the Filter Control Board Disconnect power for 30 seconds and then restore power. If the code returns, disconnect power and check the ribbon cable connections between the touch control board and the filter control board. If the connections are sound, replace the filter control board.
