Sealed Burners Repair and Cleaning Video

Sealed gas burners are cooktop burners that emit flames from below a protective cap instead of directing flame straight up to your cookware.  The metal drip pan around the base of the burner is sealed, offering a protective barrier from food and grease.

If a sealed burner on a range cooktop won’t light at all, or the flame doesn’t spread evenly around the burner head, the most likely cause is a dirty or plugged burner head. This problem happens most often when a pot boils over causing food to get into the holes on the burner.

Removing the burner cap and cleaning usually resolves the problem.

Here is a video from GE that the experts at Sears PartsDirect would like to share. It shows how to disassemble and clean a sealed burner.
