How to Stop Sewing Machine Thread from Bunching Under Fabric Video

By Kim Hillegass, Sears PartsDirect

I've had a sewing machine for years, but until recently, I only used it when I needed to hem something. Lately I've found more time for creative endeavors, and I find putting pieces of fabric together to make pretty curtains or seat covers quite relaxing.

A big problem I have when I sew is thread bunching under the fabric, or bird nesting. It's been frustrating, and I couldn’t figure out why it was happening. I thought there was something seriously wrong with my machine due to its age, until I found this great video from eHow Arts and Crafts. It really helped me out, and I think it can help you, too.
