Check valve

Attached to the air tank inlet, the check valve prevents air from back flowing to the pump from the tank when the pump stops.

Compression ring

Attached to the top of the piston, the compression ring seals the gap between the piston and the cylinder wall.

Connecting rod

The connecting rod connects the piston to the crankshaft or eccentric bearing to move the piston up and down in the cylinder.

Cylinder

The piston travels up and down inside the cylinder to compress air.

Cylinder head

Fixed above the valve plate, the cylinder head houses the air inlet and discharge ports.

Eccentric bearing

Attached to the motor drive shaft, the eccentric bearing drives the connecting rod to move the piston up and down inside the pump cylinder.

Fan

The fan connects to the crankshaft and moves air over the pump and motor for cooling.

Pressure switch

The pressure switch turns the compressor on and off to regulate the tank air pressure.

Regulator

The regulator controls air pressure from the tank to the supply hose.

Safety valve

Attached to the manifold, the safety valve pops open to relieve excessive air pressure when the pressure switch fails to shut off the pump at the cut-out pressure setting.

Tank

The tank stores compressed air.

Tank drain valve

Fixed at the bottom of the tank, the drain valve drains condensate water from the tank.

Tank pressure gauge

The tank pressure gauge attaches to the air tank and displays the pressure of air stored inside the tank.

Unloader

The unloader is a valve installed between the pump and tank that opens to release pump head pressure when the compressor stops, enabling the compressor to restart easier.
