Thanks for contacting manage my life about your refrigerator model #253.5470340A; sorry you are having a problem, I will be glad to assist you. Based on the description you have provided here are a couple things you must verify and check to determine the cause of the leak. First at the back end of the ice maker is a fill cup, leading to the cup is a fill tube coming from the back of the refrigerator. If the fill tube is not placed into the cup correctly water will splash over the cup and ice up everything. The proper placement should be with the tube not touching the front side of the cup, there should be enough room that water will flow out of tube unrestricted. If this is okay now observe when the ice maker fills and see if too much water is flowing into the mold causing the mold to overflow. This would be the fault of the water inlet valve located on the back of the unit (your home water line connects to the inlet valve. (Replace valve)And last check for cracks and or hole in the ice maker mold (replace ice maker) and that the ice maker is level and not tilted front to back and side to side. I hope this helps you, if you need more help reply with more details and I will be glad to respond. If you should need parts here is a link to Sears parts Direct.
