How much does it cost to replace a refrigerator compressor unit? 46 69002

I purchased a new Kenmore refrigerator from Sears in October of 2011. The compressor motor had slowly died and I would like to know if I should dump this unit or attempt to have it repaired.

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you’re having this problem with the refrigerator. A compressor replacement will be very expensive. It would probably cost at least $600.00 and could actually be quite a bit more. The price will vary in different locations. I recommend checking with the local store. I'm listing a number you can call 1-800-469-4663 to be able to talk with someone to get a better estimate. I'm also listing a number 1-800-479-5899 you can call, to see if there is any adjustment that can be made, since this is so close to the first year warranty. I hope this will help you.
