My dehumidifier is not collecting much water. It's my second Kenmore dehumidifier from Sears. 70 Pint capacity. Is this a problem?

thank you for your question.  if you reply below with a model number i can provide the most complete and accurate answer. 

the key to the dehumidifier working is the compressor and fan both must be working.   

if the room temperature is below 65 degrees or if the humidity level is too low the unit is not going to operate satisfactory. try moving the dehumidifier to another room with more moisture to see if will collect any water. have you tried a different fan speed and lowering the humidity level setting?

if it detects frost on the coils the control will shut off the compressor and the fan will continue to run to melt the frost. it could have developed a leak in the sealed system causing it not collect moisture. it could have a compressor issue or control board failure.

i recommend calling a service technician or take it to the nearest sears service center for service.   here is the link:  sears home services
