Ice Maker not dispensing ice
Kenmore Elite 106.51143112 is making ice, but will not dispense it. I check to ensure there was no blockage where the blade/rotator turns, and i successfully manually can rotate the bar. i also removed all the ice, and let the ice canister dry overnight, and inserted back without difficulty the following morning. I allowed 24 foe the freezer to make new ice. Still nothing. I did check the off on switch to the left of the canister to ensure the ice maker sensor was ON. Any suggetsions? I just purchased the unit in January.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your refrigerator ice dispenser. If the auger motor does not run at all and it has been replaced, it will lead to a possible wiring problem or it could be a problem in the dispenser. Disconnect the power and remove the top door hinge cover. With the cover off, you will see the wire harness. Check the wires and if the connection appears ok, a voltage check will need to be made between the blue and white wires. Reconnect the power and press ice dispenser lever. If there is 120 volts between these wires, then it will indicate a problem in the wiring to the motor. A technician would be needed to check this. If there is no voltage, the problem will be in the dispenser. A good check for this will be to press the lever in slowly and listen for a clicking sound. If there is no sound, it indicates that either the switch has failed or the actuator is not making contact with the switch. The front cover can be removed (see image) to check the switch and actuator. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, just click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services.
