washer agitates but does not fill. WTW57ESVW1 Whirlpool Automatic washer

When switched to on, agitator begins immediately but tub does not fill. Some water dribbles from around the top. I've tried different switch combinations: hot, cold, use softener, etc. No difference.

thank you for submitting your question. i understand your concern and i will be happy to assist you. usually, when this happens, it'll be due to a faulty load sense switch (w10248240). the relay in the switch sticks and allows the washer to fill and agitate at the same time or agitate before filling. a simple check, is to access the load sense switch and unplug the wires to it. then check the operation. the image below will assist you with accessing the load sense switch. make sure you unplug the washer first before performing any repairs or checks. once the console is open the load sense switch has a clear plastic hose connected to it. remove the connector that has the violet, white and the blue with orange stripe from the switch. then carefully plug the washer back in and start a wash cycle. if the washer does not do anything, you have to replace the load sense switch. if the washer still agitates, the problem is most likely a failed timer (w10177827). you can order parts from our sears parts direct web site. i hope this helps. please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. thank you for using manage my life.
