The dryer not heating properly can be a hassle and I will be happy to help. I am adding a link below to help you with your question while you wait for your expert response.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The code 10 indicates No Wet Clothes. The tech sheet states, "The Sensor bar detects no wet clothes while in a sensor Dry Cycle. Check for: Running dryer with no wet clothes in sensor dry cycle."

This issue can be caused by:

  1. Open heating element.
  2. Hi-Limit trips easily or is open.
  3. Regulating thermostat trips easily or is open.
  4. Membrane switch open.
  5. Open thermistor.

The diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please utilize the checks below.

Since your dryer is not heating in sensor dry or timed cycles, I recommend ohming the thermistor first. Here is a link to a previous question on the same issue that will show you how to ohm the thermistor; Dryer not heating? . Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance, include more details in a reply to this post.
